Dynamic Opportunity~ As a full-time employee, working 40 hours per week, the Assistant Director for the Community Support Services Program provides recovery-focused interventions that support rehabilitation goals across the eight dimensions of wellness. The Assistant Director teaches skills using evidence-based practices to clients in their community such as Illness Management and Recovery, Motivational Interviewing, and Cognitive Behavioral Strategies.
The Guidance Center~ is a primary mental health support agency, providing compassionate, professional care for individuals and families with mental health needs in the greater Cumberland County, NJ area. For more than 60 years, our non-profit organization of professionals, doctors, nurses, therapists, and support staff, has assisted the community in the diagnosis and treatment of all types of mental illness.
What does this position look like~ The Assistant Director of CSS engages in advocacy, coordinate service linkages, and fosters community integration for individuals enrolled in the CSS Program. Assists individuals to develop healthy social and daily living skills. Completes Individual Rehabilitation Plans and Comprehensive Rehabilitation Needs an Assessments, under the guidance of a clinically licensed supervisor. Completes thorough and timely documentation of services. Facilitates administrative processes for representative payee funds. Collaborates with other treatment providers. Provides crisis intervention and support crisis de-escalation. Assists the CSS Director in providing programmatic oversight including adherence to regulations, quality improvement processes, administrative tasks and in field supervision and training of employees. Participates in team meetings and clinical case review meetings.
What you need to apply~
- Master's degree from an accredited college/university in a human service discipline (social work, psychology, or related human services field).
- Active NJ licensure - Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC), Licensed Associate Marriage & Family Therapist (LAMFT) or Licensed Social Worker (LSW.)
- One year supervisory experience.
- two years experience in mental health/behavioral health.
- Knowledge of community resources and agencies.
- Valid automobile driver's license with MVR which meets agency standards.
- Spanish speaking preferred but not required.
- Willingness to work a (40) hour flexible schedule per week, which may include some evenings, weekends, holidays and on-call rotation.
