The candidate must be well-versed in Industrial Control Panel assembly with a high attention to detail. This includes component installation such as VFDs, PLCs, terminal blocks, etc., as well as the power and controls wiring of those items. This will be an experienced role that will be able to effectively build control panels, as well as train less-experienced team members.
Responsibilities
GENERAL ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (The below statements are intended to describe the general nature and scope of work being performed by this position. This is not a complete listing of all responsibilities, duties and/or skills required. Additional responsibilities may also be assigned.)
- Interpret electrical wiring diagrams/drawings and assemble panels to specifications.
- Perform drilling, tapping, cut outs and mounting of hardware
- Install and label controls & automation components onto panels
- Wire panel components to a high-quality standard
- Inspect finished panels and tests basic standards such as torque and continuity
- Organizes and runs scheduled work orders within department to meet on-time needs
- Ensure strict quality and safety standards
- Assist with testing and commissioning of industrial control panels or assemblies
- Assist with quality department continuous improvement
- Coordinate with quality department to ensure standards are aligned between departments
- Perform other duties as assigned
BASIC JOB REQUIREMENTS
- 2 years of industrial control panel assembly experience
- Ability to read, interpret and build from schematics and ladder diagrams.
- Knowledge of manufacturing and testing tools to ensure quality builds
- Ability to read and interpret documents furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, quality manuals and procedure manuals.
- Understand priorities communicated by leadership and run department schedule based on manpower and assembly build times.
- Ability to perform simple shop math, convert decimals to fractional equivalents.
- Basic computer skills
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be eligible to legally work in the United States.
- Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Must pass a background check and drug screen.
- UL 508A knowledge/experience, preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Moving objects-moderate (forklifts, carts)
- Noise level-moderate (equipment)
- Slippery surface-moderate (floor sweats in summer, outside may be slippery in winter)
- Vibration-moderate (equipment, tools)
- Air pollution-moderate (dust)
- Ability to exercise independent judgment within the limits of the position.
- This position is also expected to perform other common operations duties such as lifting, bending, operating small tools, cleaning and maintaining equipment.
