What are the responsibilities and job description for the Community Center Manager position at CUYAHOGA METROPOLITAN HOUSING AUTHORITY?
Under the general direction of the Director of Resident Services or designee, the Community Center Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a community center at CMHA sites. This role includes planning, organizing, and managing a variety of center activities, recreational programs, special events, and facility maintenance to ensure an engaging and inclusive environment for residents. The Community Center Manager will also develop and maintain partnerships with community organizations, local businesses, and service providers to create a vibrant, intergenerational public space that fosters community engagement, personal development, and social connections for residents of all ages.
Education and/or Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Education, Recreation, or closely related field preferred.
- Three to five years experience in recreation, facility, and program management. Minimum of one (1) year supervisory experience.
Skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of federal, state, and local statutes, rules, and regulations related to community programs and housing authority operations.
- Strong ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with community organizations, human services agencies, and other stakeholders to support residents.
- Demonstrated ability to follow verbal and written instructions with attention to detail.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with CMHA residents, the general public, and other CMHA employees.
- Proven ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
A valid Ohio driver’s license with fully insurable driving record.
