We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Data Engineer to join our innovative, agile, and fast-paced team. The team provides platform modernization, data delivery, and operations support to dozens of Analytics teams aligned to Healthcare, Retail, and Pharmacy initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years experience delivering creative automation, methodology, and infrastructure solutions to on-prem and cloud-based big-data customers. The Lead Data Engineer will collaborate with business leaders, support teams, and junior engineers to modernize workflows, automate routine operations, and solve complex business requirements.
• Collaborate with Analytics Engineering and supporting infrastructure teams to support and implement Linux-based workflow automations controlling HDFS, Hive, BigQuery, FTP, and other Big Data ecosystem components to present datasets to our customers.
• Use troubleshooting skills to identify and correct root cause of workflow failures based on error log outputs and environmental conditions.
• Participate in monthly Oncall support to cover after-hours, weekend, and holiday support needs.
• ETL data to and from GCP, Hadoop, and AWS
• Use SQL to examine, filter, and aggregate data in Hive, BigQuery, MySQL, SQL Server, DB2, and Oracle.
• Use programming skills including Python and Spark to automate workflow inventory, workflow execution, and publish pipeline health status for broad visibility.
• Use your experience and curiosity to deliver innovative results that boost productivity and efficiency
• Accept, engage, and complete multiple, limited scope assignments on time and autonomously
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
Minimum: 115,000
Maximum: 230,000
Please keep in mind that this range represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual salary offer will take into account a wide range of factors, including location.
Required Qualifications
• 5 years interoperating with Big Data and Cloud Native ecosystems
• 5 years building on the Linux platform using schedulers, scripts, and shell utilities
• 5 years programming in Python, Spark, or similar
• 5 years of writing SQL and DDL for Hive, BQ, and mainstream DBMS
Preferred Qualifications
• Google Cloud Associate or Professional certification
• Demonstrated ability to take requirements from leadership and collaborate with engineering support
• Track record of innovating and delivering complex solutions
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills
• Experience working with data transformation processing
• Experience with Incident Management and Ticketing systems like ServiceNow and JIRA
Education
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Machine Learning, or related discipline.
Master’s degree or PhD preferred
