Daniel J Edelman Holdings is Hiring an Associate Creative Director (Copy) Near New York, NY

Creative at UEG is different...

It’s hard to define this role at UEG because it doesn’t fit in the expected box you might find at a more traditional agency. At least not a traditional box where creatives stick to one client and only churn out radio scripts or manifest digital banner ads. This role certainly leverages your years of expertise sharpening your skills, but we really want your vision. We want to see how you cut the traditional creative agency red tape,  We believe your vision and obsession with cultural dot-connecting will make you a thriving copy-focused Associate Creative Director at UEG. As an Associate Creative Director at UEG, you understand that copy is more than just words on paper – but rather, words are what breathes life into brands, and anchors them into the greater cultural context. 

This social-focused copywriting extraordinaire will be tasked with creating things that the internet will love. Whether lighting up a caption or putting pen to paper in longer form, our ACD will know what it means to create and package weird, wild concepts and make them a reality. Our ACD will know how to tell a hell of a story via social for a variety of brands across many categories – ranging from fashion and beauty to sports and spirits, and anything and everything in between. Most importantly, though, our Associate Creative Director will understand how a well-crafted turn of phrase can get everyone talking.

Responsibilities:

  • Working directly with a cross-functional team of creatives and strategists, you will be developing original creative concepts for large-scale, socially focused campaigns, that deliver on brand and on brief, from conception to delivery. 
  • Drive home concepts through short, punchy captions or through-provoking campaign manifestos– and everything in between.
  • Exceptional storytelling and presentation skills are an absolute must have. It’s a huge plus if you are the resident champion deck author and presenter amongst your peers and clients.
  • Presenting your ideas clearly to internal and external teams (kind of goes without saying)
  • Staying on top of trends through business/industry monitoring and outside resources (culture is a ruler so you gotta know it and it’s a plus for us if you can access to it)

  •  Ability to own projects, demonstrate good judgment with all stakeholders
  • Adding your personality to the culture at the agency;
  • Managing your own time & deadlines;
  • Presentation deck development;
  • Working collaboratively, effectively, and respectfully with all internal and external partners
  • Having fun while you’re doing it
Qualifications:
  • At least five years of relevant experience, preferably in an agency setting.
  • Social fluency and a solid understanding of how to drive conversation and engagement across social channel – in other words, you know how to define and drive messaging across social platforms
  • Excellent writing and editing skills with demonstrated experience in conceptual writing in marketing or advertising, Web, product, brand messaging and promotional copy
  • Experience in a small to mid-sized agency environment working with marketing, advertising, or PR campaigns, with a focus on social media and long form copy preferred
  • Ability to think strategically and conceptualize creatively
  • Strong presentation and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working on new business and existent client presentations and preparing creative themes and taglines 
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and with a fast-paced team
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Ability to own projects, demonstrate good judgment when working with team members and client contacts, and take initiative
  • Experience managing day-to-day changes at every level of detail
  • Relevant education. Bachelor’s degree preferred. But experience is a primary criterion. 
  • A portfolio with demonstrated examples working across multiple channels & strong writing craft

PAY RANGE: $68,000 - $112,000

An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, any contractual agreements, and business or organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of DJEH’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, a Paid Time Off policy, and region-specific benefits.
