Position Purpose
Working within the Division of Institutional Diversity and Equity, the Program Coordinator, International Student Experience assists the Director, International Student Experience, in providing comprehensive support to international students on campus. With primary responsibility for undergraduate international students and coordinated support for graduate and professional international students, the Program Coordinator helps implement support initiatives and programming tailored to all international students, aligning with Dartmouth’s broader curricular and co-curricular objectives. The Program Coordinator works closely with various campus offices, including the Office of Visa and Immigration Services, and key contacts in the graduate and professional schools to provide coordinated programming in support of the international student experience.

- At least three years’ relevant work experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience planning and coordinating extended orientation programs for students.
- Strong organizational skills for proficiently managing multiple projects.
- Experience and interpersonal skills for engaging students, faculty, and colleagues in a highly diverse community. Ability to interact with others with tact and diplomacy.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to respond appropriately to pressures, deadlines and frequent changes in priorities and schedules.
- Demonstrated flexibility and the ability to take initiative, work independently, and handle multiple issues and competing priorities in a dynamic work environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Education and experience in student affairs, international education, and/or leadership development.
- Experience working in an international student engagement role.
- Experience traveling/living abroad and/or speaking 2 or more languages.

Description
Programming and Advising
- Assists in the coordination and implementation of onboarding and support services for undergraduate international students. This includes co-facilitating the signature International Student Pre-Orientation Program (ISPOP) for undergraduate students.
- Coordinates and manages the undergraduate International Student Mentoring Program. Advises International Mentors and other student leaders as assigned on community building, task management, student outreach, and leadership development. Leads aspects of international student onboarding in collaboration with mentors.
- Helps in the development, maintenance, and distribution of international student resource lists and guides, i.e., the international student handbook. Supports international students in accessing information on regulations and financial needs by directing them to the Office of Visa and Immigration Services (OVIS), Financial Aid Office, and other relevant departments.
- Plans and oversees the implementation of signature programs, providing opportunities for student leadership development, coordinating outreach, and facilitating educational training.
- Develops and oversees the implementation, marketing, delivery, and assessment of community- building programs and graduation celebrations offered on different timelines across different academic terms.
- Maintains general engagement with students, handling sensitive issues related to students’ needs and referring students to appropriate offices when specific needs arise (accessibility, health concerns, socioeconomic needs, immigration status, citizenship status, etc.).

- Aids the Director in acting as the central resource for international student support needs across the institution.
- Assists in the assessment and evaluation of international student experience programs

- Creates electronic and print resources, outreach, and marketing materials. This may include updating website materials and using social networking platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, etc.
- Trains, supervises, and evaluates undergraduate student staff.

- Manages the general office email communications.
