JOB SUMMARY:

The primary responsibility of the Sales Engineer for BlackHawk Datacom is to build custom solutions and solve complex business problems for prospective and current clients. This position will be responsible for understanding and demonstrating the capabilities of our security and communication products, conducting pre-sales technical evaluations, and assisting in the development of tailored solutions for our clients. Strong technical writing abilities will also be crucial as you will be involved in creating detailed proposals and documentation.
 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  •   Demonstrated experience in proposal development, including RFP reviewal, bill of material development, and executive summary development.
  •   Strong technical knowledge of security technologies, including video surveillance cameras, access control systems, video management software, and related hardware.
  •   Strong technical knowledge of wireless, wired and fiber communications technologies, including switches, routers and other network devices and modems.
  •   Experience in integrating security solutions into complex environments and understanding customer-specific integration requirements.
  •   Proficiency in conducting site surveys and assessments to gather technical requirements for security solutions.
  •   Knowledge of industry standards and best practices related to security systems.
  •   Exceptional technical writing skills with a portfolio of clear and concise technical documentation.
  •   Experience in delivering product demonstrations and presentations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  •   Familiarity with project management principles and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  •   Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively to design effective security solutions.
  •   Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, customers, and partners.
  •   A track record of adapting to changing customer requirements and emerging technologies.
  •   Ethical conduct, professionalism, and a commitment to maintaining the confidentiality and security of customer information.
 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Sales Engineer is not directly responsible for the supervision of others but is responsible for ensuring timely delivery of information from resources contributing to the proposal. Subject Matter Experts (SME) within or outside of BlackHawk serve as SME and may contribute to the successful completion of proposals. It is the Sales Engineer’s responsibility to solicit, manage, and compile the contributions in a timely manner. This role may also involve setting clear goals, providing coaching and development, and ensuring efficient resource allocation. The Sales Engineer collaborates with the sales team, oversees the proposal development progress, and maintains strong customer relationships.

SAFETY POLICIES & PRACTICES:

Employee must set example for others by 100% participation in all Safety required training and programs (such as S.T.A.R.T.). At all times, the employee is responsible for following all safety rules and regulations set by BlackHawk Datacom, their customers, and federal, state, and local governments. The employee is also responsible for wearing the proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required by OSHA and the Company, in accordance with the tasks being performed.
