Job Location: David and Margaret Home Inc - La Verne, CA
Salary Range: Undisclosed

Summary:

Responsible for fulfilling food requests, preparing and distributing snack items and assisting on the service line; responsible for maintaining proper food handling practices in preparation, holding, service and storage of food; responsible for proper cleaning and sanitizing of all dishes, pots and pans in the facility; responsible to maintain the kitchen and surrounding areas to meet sanitary standards.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Sets up and maintains three-compartment sink and dish machine
  • Washes, sanitizes and restocks all plates, utensils, pans and small wares
  • Sweeps and mops kitchen & dining room and removes trash as necessary
  • Stores provisions utilizing the FIFO method
  • Fills food requests promptly
  • Portions food according to portion control standards
  • Responsible for the cleanliness, sanitation and order of assigned work areas
  • Maintains the kitchen in a sanitary fashion
  • Performs other reasonable related duties as assigned


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or its equivalent
  • Two years culinary experience in institutional or restaurant food service
  • Current Food Handler certificate
  • Must fulfill all requirements of employment, including clearance of all required background records (e.g. Department of Justice, Child Abuse, California Community Care Licensing, County Sanction List, etc.), professional, physical examination, and drug testing

Physical Requirements:

In the course of performing this job, the incumbent must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. Frequent walking along slope hills, pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, stooping, standing, twisting, climbing, crawling, reaching, walking, driving, kneeling, crouching, talking, hearing and repetitive motions. Occasional typing, running, writing, and sitting.
