Davidson is seeking a Configure Management Specialist in Huntsville, AL. (Contingent Upon Funding)

This position is an integral part of a fast-paced, innovative program, involving developing and implementing an integrated Command and Control (C2) platform. The program works cross-functionally with innovative team members skilled in High-Performance Computing (HPC), Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Data Engineering and Analysis, DevSecOps, and Cybersecurity.
Candidate should be able to:

• Discuss new and innovative theories, ideas, and concepts
• Facilitate an agile development lifecycle
• Work within a diverse Integrated Product Team
• Provide design inputs and assist with decomposing to system requirements
• Develop and implement changes to the system
• Diagram and present recommendations

High-Level Role and Responsibilities:

• The candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining the configuration of software and hardware products in a DevSecOps environment.
• You will work closely with development, security, and operations teams to ensure that all software and hardware products are properly configured, deployed, and secured.

Duties may include:

• Develop and maintain a configuration management plan for software and hardware products, integrating security considerations throughout the process
• Collaborate with development, security, and operations teams to define configuration items and ensure they are tracked throughout the development lifecycle
• Implement and maintain a version control system for source code and documentation, with a focus on maintaining secure code practices
• Develop and maintain automated build, test, and deployment processes, with security at the forefront of all activities.
• Monitor and report on the status of configuration items and ensure compliance with security requirements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve configuration issues related to security and compliance.
• Work with the program manager to ensure that project milestones are met, with security considerations as a key factor in decision-making.
• Continuously improve the configuration management process, with a focus on security and compliance

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
• 10 years of experience in configuration management, with a focus on security and compliance
• Familiarity with DevSecOps
• Strong understanding of version control systems such as Git, with a focus on maintaining secure code practices
• Strong problem-solving skills related to security and compliance issues
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with development, security, and operations teams
