Aftermarket Software Engineer

  • Responsibilities

    • Create PLC programs using ladder editor, function block diagrams, flow charts, etc. for web converting equipment and associated functions
    • Design and develop HMI applications
    • Design and review PLC network architecture
    • AC/DC drives configuration
    • Integration of Legacy drives, controls and equipment
    • Support the creation of technical product documentation and information
    • In-house testing of software and systems
    • Provide on-site assistance during system start-up and commissioning
    • Remote and on-site customer support
    • Assist Sales with pre-study analysis and reports
    • Interact with customers as required
    • Work closely with team members to complete projects and assignments

     

    Position Requirements

    • BSEE or MSEE with Controls background preferred
    • Minimum 2 year technology degree
    • Knowledge of AC/DC drive systems, PCs, Allen-Bradley and/or Siemens PLC
    • Previous experience with PLCs, AC and DC Drive systems and Supervisory control systems
    • Strong understanding of industrial controls networks
    • Web handling and converting equipment experience is preferred, but not a requirement
    • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work well with others and manage a customer
    • Strong technical aptitude and good analytical skills; organized and detail oriented
    • Self-starter, willing to work-through and seek answers to ongoing new requirements
    • Strong self-discipline
    • Experience with the following computer related skills: Office 365, Word, Excel
    • Industrial programming software such as:   Ladder Logic, Control Block Diagramming, HMI configuration software
