Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Maintenance Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of maintenance tasks to ensure the functionality and safety of our facilities. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Duties
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of facilities to identify issues and ensure optimal operation
- Execute facilities maintenance tasks, including plumbing, HVAC, electrical and general repairs (ie replacing light bulbs, batteries, filters, hanging pictures, outdoor/indoor Christmas decorations, etc.)
- Fixing minor leaks, clogged drains, and faulty fixtures
- Clean up any water leaks or sewage leaks in restrooms
- Touch-up painting and patching minor wall damage
- Maintaining grounds by removing debris and trash as needed
- Make sure no tripping hazards with outdoor mats
- Maintain the outdoor flags
- Adjust room size of classrooms by moving sliding walls along with arranging the desks, and chairs according to renters' requests
- Make morning coffee for the renters and internal staff
- Stock the refrigerators with beverages
- Organize the storage room for both supplies and documents
- Water landscape during the hot months
- Plant flowers as needed
- Notify the staff when supplies are low for reordering
Requirements
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and carpentry skills
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely
- Ability to read and follow instructions and basic blueprints
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects and perform tasks requiring bending, climbing, reaching, and pulling
- Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks
- Good communication skills to interact with renters, outside vendors, and management
- Reliability
Work Environment:
- Primarily working indoors with minimal outdoors in various weather conditions
- May require working on ladders and in tight spaces
- Exposure to potential hazards like cleaning chemicals, paint, and salt
