JOB SUMMARY
Deeply Digital, LLC is a Communications, Construction, and Consulting company in Montrose, Colorado, serving the surrounding community. Its sister company, Clearnetworx, provides ISP services to the surrounding region. This position’s responsibilities include connecting new customers to Internet service, whether through splicing into existing fiber lines, wiring the “last 90 feet” of the connection, or installing wireless equipment. The Connectivity Specialist installs wiring and related equipment and performs disconnects, add-ons, changes, and repair/troubleshooting of Internet, wireless, telephone, and computer network services at customer locations.
EXPERIENCE
Staff hired into this position require at least three (five or equivalent training and demonstrated ability for Senior) years of experience and must be able to demonstrate their ability to perform the Essential Duties/Responsibilities listed. ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Connect new customers to existing fiber and wireless ISP services, including performing occasional fiber splicing
- Work alone or as a team to perform Category 5 and 6 cabling installation, termination, and testing, as well as fiberoptic installation, termination, splicing, and testing
- Note: Senior Connectivity Specialists serve as team leads on these projects.
- Conduct Wireless Access Points installation and repair
- Maintain records of all work completed in the company’s job tracking system
- Document changes to company equipment and configurations, as well as customer information
- Install conduit and innerduct
- Estimate time and materials needed for new or modified installations
- Construct IT Rooms and components including racks, patch panels, cabinets, bonding, and uninterrupted power supply systems
- Walk jobs, estimate time and materials needed for quotes, and answer technical questions for RFPs
- Keep abreast of industry trends and technical advancements and make recommendations regarding new technologies
- Perform all duties with close attention to safety and standards
SPECIALIZED DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
The Connectivity Specialists can work across specialties but focus on specific areas. Some do more work with wireless, others with phones, etc. The Connectivity Specialist may focus on one or more of the duties below:
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair wireless Internet connectivity at client locations
- Install and service of low voltage category cabling, fiber optic cabling, communications cabling, communication equipment, and other various low voltage related systems such as Category 3, Category 5, Enhanced Category 5, Category 6 and Fiber Optic Structured Cable Distribution Systems.
- Design, install, troubleshoot, and repair VOIP and analog phone systems
- Install and set up routers, switches, and other IT equipment to connect customers to the Internet
- Install, configure, and repair surveillance and access control systems
- Design, install, configure, and repair commercial audio and paging systems
- Install, monitor, maintain, expand, and update backhaul and wireless tower sites and equipment
- Operate splicing equipment
- Identify issues with fiber using red light
- Construct proper splice cases
- Place a mid-sheath splice
REQUIREMENTS
- At least three years of experience with low voltage wiring, fiberoptic, and local area network (LAN) technologies
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
- Willingness to travel, including a valid Colorado driver's license and good driving record
- Clean and professional appearance
- Standard/basic low voltage hand tools
- Excellent people skills with a team orientation
- Ability to read, understand, and create construction drawings and documents
- Ability to problem solve and develop creative solutions for installation challenges
- Self-motivated
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Climb up and down ladders, towers, machinery, and other objects
- Push, pull, reach, and carry objects such as tools, materials, and equipment weighing up to or over 100 pounds
- Load and unload tools and equipment on trucks
- Coordinate movement of eyes, hands, fingers, and feet
- Some work is outdoors, subject to inclement weather

Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
