Job Description
· Ensure all scheduled maintenance assigned is completed, work orders documented and closed.
· The Maintenance Technician at Sabra will be responsible for facilitation and leadership to install, troubleshoot, maintain, and improve processing, Filling and packaging equipment, to maximize production and maintain Sabra’s high standards in safety and quality.
· Alongside our production teams, our Maintenance Mechanical Technicians work in a team or autonomously to continuously improve our equipment reliability in a high-speed manufacturing environment.
· Certification in mechanical, electrical, or multi-craft apprenticeship (Preferred).
Job Responsibilities
· Maintenance technicians must be highly quality-conscious, aggressively self-directed, motivated team players, and willing trainers—eager to gain and share new knowledge.
· Consistently meets internal/external customer expectations through teamwork, respect, positive and effective communication, and a willingness to help and support others.
· Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
· Perform various equipment preventive maintenance assignments (i.e., cleaning, inspection, lubrication, planned, and corrective) as assigned.
· Perform welding repairs on various types of metal parts and fabricated equipment using different welding processes including T.I.G., M.I.G., oxy-acetylene and arc welding in a safe and quality manner (Preferred).
· Ability, knowledge & Experience with the use and operation of shop machine equipment.
· Disassemble and repair or rebuild all mechanical machine components such as but not limited to gearboxes, bearings, seals, sprockets, motors, as well as various pumps used in the production processes.
· Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical systems on equipment.
· Troubleshoot Pneumatic and Hydraulic systems using schematics
· Troubleshoot process systems (Flow, Pressure, Temperature and CIP systems using P&ID)
. Rigs equipment for installation relocation and replacement as needed to facilitate other maintenance and or operations.
· Complete assigned work efficiently and per Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's)
· Maintain a clean work area and utilize Good Manufacturing Practices by following all required processes and performing quality inspections.
· Champion process improvement in assigned areas by analyzing equipment maintenance history, identifying significant causes of waste, coordinating with appropriate employees to develop root-cause solutions, and providing maintenance assistance as necessary.
· Ability to read and understand complex instructions, Electrical prints, Pneumatic & Hydraulic schematics.
· Ability to competently use and understand the need to use precision tooling (e.g., Inside / outside micrometers, depth gauges, calipers, torque wenches).
· Thoroughly document maintenance activity using the maintenance database (SAP), adequately communicate maintenance issues to appropriate employees (e.g., other maintenance techs, operators, engineers, supervisors, etc.).
· Use SAP to detail corrective and preventive maintenance performed throughout the shift, including searching and issuing parts, documenting equipment issues and entering inspection/measurement points.
· Follow all supply / MRO policy / procedures.
· Follow and adhere all safety and Quality policies and procedures
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
· 3 years of maintenance technician experience
· Ability to express basic electronic, mechanical and hydraulic principles used in past electrician, maintenance mechanic, and maintenance technician work assignments.
· Experience in industrial maintenance (electrical & mechanical) and testing procedures (A/C D/C) preferred. Experience troubleshooting automated equipment, including sensors, valves, pumps, discrete I/O, PLCs, and VFDs. Experience troubleshooting and repairing 480v 3phase electrical motors and circuits.
· Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
· Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
· Basic MS Office knowledge and a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) is required; more advanced skills are helpful.
· Ability to lift and carry products and/or equipment of up to 75 lbs.
· Ability to work a 12 hour a day set work schedule within a 24x7 operation (weekends, evenings, and holidays)
