Position Duties/Responsibilities:
- Responsible for designing, analyzing, and ensuring the integrity and safety of various structures. The projects range from residential renovations to small commercial projects.
- Take a leadership role in managing structural engineering projects from conception to completion.
- Collaborate with diverse stakeholders from architects to general contractors and will be responsible for completing projects on time and with high quality.
- Produce and stamp engineered design drawings and calculations.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior engineers.
- Participate in client meetings, presentations, and discussions to understand and meet client expectations.
- Identify potential risks associated with structural designs and propose effective mitigation strategies.
- Perform quality checks on project deliverables to meet the highest standards of engineering excellence.
- Manage engineering projects in direct communication with the client and engineering team.
- Work in AutoCAD and Smath, and other software as required to create and revise standard drawing and calculation templates.
- Travel to professional conferences and expos to acquire new knowledge and networking.
- Co-ordinate with clients and other team members to develop cost-effective, practical, multifaceted solutions for projects.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
- Professional Engineering registration is required.
- Minimum 5 plus years of experience in structural engineering
- Experience with Microsoft Office, Autodesk products (Revit/Autocad), Bluebam, SMath
- Experience with preparing plans, specifications, and design calculations.
- Self-motivated, energetic, and able to independently take on new projects.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to manage/lead a team.
- Detail oriented & well organized with demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong verbal & written communication skills.
- Desire to learn and advance in technical skills and understanding.
- Revit experience.
