The Assistant Warehouse Manager & Logistics Specialist will support the day-to-day operations of the warehouse, managing and developing associates, and ensuring efficient and accurate handling of inventory. This role is essential for maintaining smooth warehouse operations, optimizing logistics strategies, and ensuring the timely and cost-effective movement of goods. The Assistant Manager will work closely with the Warehouse Manager and team to implement and monitor procedures, oversee inventory, manage shipments, and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Essential Functions:
Specific duties include but are not limited to:
- Lead by example and develop warehouse associates to be efficient, accurate, and accountable.
- Plan and execute efficient and accurate assembly, loading, and unloading of inventory.
- Collect, interpret, and analyze several types of logistical data for inbound orders, storage, and outbound orders.
- Create and maintain databases of logistical information.
- Track inventory through the supply chain.
- Review warehouse processes and procedures to identify, recommend and implement improvements and maximization of efficiency.
- Use analytical methods to create and implement labor scheduling.
- Creation and evaluation of logistical and labor KPIs.
- Perform root cause analysis of errors and identify and implement methods for improvement.
- Analyze current space management and develop options for future expansion.
Required Skills:
- Knowledge of and experience in standard warehouse practices
- Training and experience in analytical job duties in logistics
- Experience implementing and training in warehouse functions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, expertise in excel preferred, experience in data warehouse management preferred.
- Work on-site in corporate office - (no remote work or relocation)
Required Education & Experience:
- Previous leadership experience in a warehouse or distribution environment
- Experience with business optimization or process improvement with measurable outcomes.
- Preferred degree in Supply Chain Management and/or Industrial Engineering.
- Previous experience in warehouse management and logistical analysis
Work Environment, Equipment and Physical Demands:
Will require work in a variety of settings to include office, warehouse, production areas, retail, outside and in refrigerated environments. Position requires standing/walking for considerable periods of time. Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which may include metal and/or plastic grating services. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. May be required to climb stairs and ladders. May be exposed to extreme temperature and weather conditions (indoors and outdoors), as well as wet and humid atmospheres. Must be available to work alternate shifts as needed. May be exposed to a variety of food allergens including but not limited to nuts and cheeses.
