Position Overview

As a Project Director , you will be responsible for overseeing the estimation, execution, and management of reconstruction projects from contract signing to final payment. This role involves building relationships with insurance professionals for job referrals, finalizing scopes of work, and coordinating with the Superintendent to ensure all changes are approved by the customer and insurance company for accurate billing and successful project completion. Your leadership will be pivotal in managing customer expectations and delivering exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary contact for customers, insurance adjusters, and internal office staff.
  • Assess onsite conditions, conduct walkthroughs with insurance representatives, and draft comprehensive scopes of work and estimates.
  • Secure signed performance authorizations from property owners.
  • Ensure all emergency services are completed safely before transitioning to reconstruction.
  • Collaborate with customers to secure reconstruction projects post-mitigation.
  • Work closely with the Superintendent to coordinate permits, staffing, materials, and project schedules.
  • Partner with the project coordinator and division leader to keep projects on track with timelines and budgets.
  • Identify and implement steps to initiate job production while mobilizing additional resources.
  • Make informed decisions to resolve issues and capitalize on opportunities.
  • Assist with order placements, approvals, and documentation to ensure accurate billing.
  • Participate in bi-weekly Work-In-Progress (WIP) reviews.
  • Build and maintain relationships with subcontractors and material suppliers to enhance efficiency.
  • Manage change orders and communicate adjustments to all stakeholders.
  • Facilitate conflict resolution among involved parties.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours service calls.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of project management experience in the construction and / or restoration industry.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Valid driver's license meeting company policy standards.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to foster teamwork and drive business success.
  • Proven ability to cultivate business development networks within restoration organizations.
  • Preferred certifications : IICRC WRT and FSRT.
  • Xactimate Level 1 Certification preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in cost control, budgeting, and forecasting.
