What are the responsibilities and job description for the Security Manager position at DelGrosso's Amusement Park?
Education & Qualifications: Minimum of a high school diploma or GED required. Degree in Criminal Justice or related field is preferred. Must have a valid PA Driver’s license. Management and/or Leadership experience is preferred. Must be organized, have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and must follow and enforce policies and procedures. Must be committed to providing excellent guest and staff service. Must be able to work long hours and have a good working relationship with outside law enforcement agencies. Must be able to multitask and prioritize events as they unfold and keep calm and be professional at all times.
Summary: Maintain a security presence within the DelGrosso Family of Companies by enforcing rules and regulations and providing a safe and fun experience for all staff and guests. Oversee day-to-day operations of the Security Department. Supervise, train, and lead a professional team. Create and/or maintain Security Policies, Security Officer Training Manual, and Emergency Action Plan. Conduct investigations and surveillance as needed.
Essential Functions:
• Enforce all rules and regulations.
• Investigate all calls that come into the Security Department.
• Address and handle customer issues and complaints when necessary.
• Report any major issues/problems to Director of Operations.
• Establish job assignments and cleaning regimens and monitor for follow through and completion.
• Complete staff schedule, posting at least one week in advance.
• Enforce all child labor laws as they apply to scheduling, breaks and duties allowable by age.
• Review, monitor, and approve timesheets for payroll.
• Maintain accurate schedule, attendance, training, and employee records.
• Train team members on proper Company and department policies and procedures.
• Train and guide Area Manager & Team Leader(s) on how to maintain operations in the absence of the Security Manager.
• Address employee disciplinary action in a timely manner according to company and department policies and procedures.
• Maintain all reports for the Security Department.
• Assist with Infrastructure projects (i.e., Photography, Documentation, Identification, etc.)
• Work with the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer, and Directors to coordinate security coverage for parking, special events, transports, and other requests.
• Work closely with Internship programs (Coordinators and Students).
• Respond or delegate any Alarm Calls from the various Alarm Systems on the property.
• Maintain control and issuing of keys for all areas of the DelGrosso Companies.
• Safely operate personal vehicle as needed to travel for work.
• Deliver bank deposits when needed. (Limited times throughout the season)
• Safely operate golf cart in accordance with company and department policies and procedures.
• Conduct employee golf cart training and testing.
• Complete DOT registration renewals for company vehicles.
• Conduct and record daily water meter reads for the facility.
• Work the night shift Security if/when needed.
• Work in various weather and environmental conditions including but not limited to direct or indirect sunlight, heat, humidity, rain, hail and cold.
Other Responsibilities:
• Maintain and protect employee, customer, and consumer confidentiality.
• Report to and from work at assigned time.
• Complete other duties as assigned.
• Must be honest and reliable.
• Must be able to work in a team atmosphere and assist co-workers on an ongoing basis.
• Adhere to dress code policy.
• Coordinate the proper distribution and pick up of ticket seller crates (waterside ticket booth, Guest Service) to and from the Park Office.
