Overview:

As a Service Assistant at Denny's, you will play a crucial role in ensuring guest satisfaction by maintaining restaurant sanitation and assisting the servers. Your responsibilities will include washing dishes, busing tables, and keeping the restaurant clean both inside and out. If you are detail-oriented and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, this is the perfect job for you.

Job Functions/Responsibilities:

• Maintain overall sanitation of the restaurant, inside and out.
• Keep dishes properly cleaned and stocked.
• Complete deep cleaning duties, such as scrubbing walls, cleaning walk-in cooler/freezer, scrubbing sidewalks, and maintaining the dumpster area.
• Bus tables as needed.
• Replace light bulbs as needed.
• Inform management immediately of any safety hazards, guest complaints, or any other issues that may affect guest satisfaction.
• Complete all required side work, daily cleaning tasks, proper chemical handling/dilution, and other duties in a safe and timely manner.
• Adhere to all company standards and policies, including dish separation and hourly restroom/parking lot checks.
• Keep the dish station, racks, and shelves clean and organized.
• Know how to disassemble the dish machine and properly clean it.
• Maintain cleanliness of walls, floors, and drains.
• Keep landscaping and parking lot clean.
• Be courteous and helpful to fellow employees and guests.
• Seat and greet guests when needed.
• Embody and promote Denny's Inc. and Franchise company values.

Accountabilities:

As a Service Assistant, your accountabilities include ensuring that dining room tables are cleaned and sanitized, and pots, pans, dishes, glassware, ice, and utensils are adequately stocked throughout the shift. You will also be responsible for keeping the front and back of the house clean, organized, and stocked at all times to ensure timely customer service. Additionally, maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the restaurant exterior is essential.

Physical Requirements:

• Extensive standing without breaks
• Reaching heights of approximately 6 feet and depths of 2 to 3 feet
• High level of mobility/flexibility
• Ability to work irregular hours and under heavy pressure/stress
• Bending, reaching, walking
• Communicating with customers

Qualification Standards:

• Must work well with others.
• Ability to move 30lbs.
• Job requires being on feet for extended periods of time, a lot of bending, kneeling, stooping, reaching, wiping, and heavy lifting.
• Must work in extreme temperatures, (inside and outside) both hot and cold.
• Must have sufficient mobility to move and/or operate work area.
• Must practice safe work habits.
• Must be able to observe wares on equipment, facility, and outside area to ensure health requirements are met.
• Must meet any state, county, or municipal regulation pertaining to health risk concerns about food handling.
• Smile and present a professional image at all times.
• Must complete all video training, anti-discrimination and anti-harassment training, and comply with Denny’s nondiscrimination policies.
