What are the responsibilities and job description for the Addiction / MAT Provider (DEA# req'd) position at Denova?
We at DeNova are excited to expand our behavioral health facilities in Richmond, KY, and are looking to hire a Medical Provider that is eager and eager to help mental health disorders, primarily Substance Use Disorder. Focusing on Addiction, the provider will be enabled to take on sole responsibility of a patient caseload of roughly 100 clients, handling everything from assessment to diagnosis to treatment to encourage patients to start fresh and new.
Partnering with our Social Work programs, our clinician will write orders, prescribe medications (oral and injectable) for opioid replacement, as well as other treatments for many common substances of abuse. The provider will also collaborate with other providers to ensure success. Top candidates will work comfortably under pressure while multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment and can effectively react to patient emergencies.
Minimum Education and/or Certification:
- Must have a current, unencumbered license as an MD or APRN in Kentucky
- Must have a valid DEA license
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Applicants should have a minimum of 1 years’ experience working as an APRN or MD
- Experience in substance abuse is preferred
- Addiction Medicine experience is preferred, but not required
Job Responsibilities and Essential Functions
- Reports to the Medical Director and Clinic Director.
- Conducts initial medical evaluation, diagnosis, and determines medication dose.
- Provides education and information to patients regarding opioid replacement treatment.
- Conducts dose evaluations for medication adjustments.
- Provides medical consultation and coordination to other agency providers regarding patient care, as needed.
- Documents medical services provided in electronic medical record system.
- Provides onsite first aid assistance in any medical emergencies.
- Educates patients appropriately for outpatient addiction medicine
- Determines level of urgency on follow-up, referral/consultation appointments
- Exercises final medical judgment in all issues of health care, including appropriate medication dosing, follow-up intervals, and response to abnormal drug screens
- Prescribes medications appropriately
- Orders studies, tests and ancillary services as clinically indicated
- Documents all services in patient medical record in a manner consistent with CPT coding and E&M documentation guidelines within 24 hours
- Consults with medical director and other professionals on staff as needed regarding patient care, assessment, and education issues
- Participates in quality improvement, management, continuing education, and other patient care programs established by company leadership
- Oversees medical assistants
- Assists in the resolution of complaints, requests and inquiries from patients
- Maintains confidentiality of all patient information according to federal guidelines and regulations
Additional Responsibilities
- Adheres specifically to all company policies and procedures, Federal and State regulations and laws
- May provide hepatitis treatment
- Performs other duties as required
