Job Summary 

The Director of Corporate Relations serves in a frontline fundraising capacity as part of the Development team and creates, implements, and oversees all aspects of the corporate fundraising and engagement strategy. This role is focused on managing relationships, developing partnership opportunities, and securing philanthropic support from corporate and corporate foundation donors to support the needs and priorities of Denver Scholarship Foundation (DSF). This position supervises the Corporate Relations and Volunteers Manager.

Job Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary relationship manager and develop personalized engagement plans for a portfolio of 100 corporate and corporate foundation partners across industry sectors, with responsibility for prospect research, identification, cultivation, solicitation, and retention. 
  • Maintain strong relationships with key liaisons in each corporate partnership to expand the company’s involvement with DSF in areas of mutual interest. 
  • Prepare partnership proposals, case statements, stewardship impact reports, and other communication in support of fundraising objectives.
  • Proactively develop strategies and identify opportunities to raise awareness of DSF with companies to encourage more corporations to invest in long-term relationships that advance the mission, purpose, and objectives of DSF.
  • Supervises the Corporate Relations and Volunteers Manager position.
  • Supervises cross-departmental strategic collaboration between Corporate Relations and Volunteers Manager and Program, MCE, and Scholarship teams to activate, manage, and recognize DSF’s corporate partnerships and Named Scholarship program.
  • Work in partnership with grant writer to development strategies for new and renewed corporate grant opportunities, including identification of philanthropic interest alignment, consideration of grant requirements, and collaboration with applications and reporting. 
  • Participate in strategizing portfolio management with CEO, CDO, Director of Development Operations, Director of Major Gifts, and Donor Relations Manager.
  • Utilize DSF staff, Board of Directors, Associate Board, Development Committee, and other stakeholders to assist in identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding prospects and donors. 
  • Actively use Raiser’s Edge NXT for management and maintenance of pipeline, cultivation process, donor and prospect records, gift and pledge recording, and informational reports. 
  • Serve as co-liaison to DSF Associate Board, responsible for recruitment, expectations, and activation to drive fundraising initiatives in alignment with Strategic Plan.
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Requirements

Required Skills and Abilities 

  • Ability to build strong relationships with a donor centric approach. 
  • Ability to understand the needs and interests of corporate donors in order to develop relationships between them and DSF.
  • Dedication to promoting DSF’s fundraising priorities through developing excellent working relationships with DSF staff, board, committees, and other volunteers. 
  • Ability to initiate, analyze, monitor, evaluate, and alter strategic development plans 
  • Strong communication and writing skills. 
  • Experience working with all Microsoft Office applications. 

Education and Experience

  • Seven or more years of nonprofit fundraising, corporate experience preferred Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Experience with Raiser’s Edge and/or Raiser’s Edge NXT preferred.
  • Excellent understanding of fundraising principles and techniques.

  • $85,000 to $100,000
