Histology Technician

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Histology Technician/Laboratory Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in the preparation and quality control of tissue samples, contributing to accurate diagnoses and patient care. This position requires a strong understanding of laboratory procedures, medical terminology, and pathology, as well as the ability to work effectively in a clinical laboratory environment.

Duties

• Prepare and process dermatological tissue specimens for microscopic examination.
• Perform laboratory procedures including accessioning, grossing, embedding, sectioning, and staining of tissue samples.
• Maintain accurate records of specimen collection and processing using specialized software.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and quality control measures, including CAP requirements and CLIA standards.
• Maintain equipment, instruments and inventory supplies.

Requirements

• Histology Certificate/diploma from an accredited institution.
• HT/ASCP certification preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and pathology is essential.
• Experience in specimen collection processing and clinical laboratory practices.
• Familiarity with laboratory procedures related to histology.
• Ability to work efficiently and independently.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to comply with all CLIA standards.
• Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with team members.
