8500 - 3437 Homecare Technician - DME
Riggs Hospital Supplies, Inc. in Powell, TN, has an immediate opening for a Homecare Technician. Homecare Technicians are directly responsible for the setup, pickup, maintenance and cleaning of Durable Medical Equipment. The technician shall make sure all patients are taken care of and educated on the use of their equipment. The at home patients are their primary responsibility.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
Setup of Durable Medical Equipment.
Ensure the storage areas are clean and follow all state, federal, OSHA, and Medicare regulations, as well as fire safety codes.
Ensure all equipment is cleaned and stored in an organized fashion.
Provide patient and employee education on Durable Medical Equipment
Communicate problems encountered during working hours to supervisor, including but not limited to:
Work related problems
Equipment shortage or malfunctions
Patient cooperation
Personnel problems
Work assigned night and weekend shifts, as needed.
Maintain a good driving record and keep delivery vehicle clean and in good working condition.
Provide customer service assistance as needed.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or general education degree (GED).
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Ability to use ten-key, fax machine, office copier and computer required. Experience using Microsoft Office applications required. Brightree experience preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must possess a valid Commercial Driver's License, Class A, and be able to pass a DOT physical and controlled substance test. Must possess a valid Medical Examiner’s Certificate per DOT regulations.
ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to drive; sit; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; and climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to smell; and use arms above shoulder level. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Primary job requirements include but are not limited to delivery, setup, and pickup of medical equipment. Must have driver’s license and be able to drive for 6 hours per day.
