What are the responsibilities and job description for the Supply Chain Intern position at Design Ready Controls, Inc?
Position summary:
Create, manage, analyze, expedite and de-expedite purchase orders to ensure proper amounts of production materials are available considering lead time, demand, cost, and space.
Key responsibilities:
· Create purchase orders for variable cost job materials.
· Inventory Re-Order Report – Safety stock and reorder points
· Requisition forms
· Update purchase order confirmation due dates to aid in supplier performance review as well as catch late deliveries that will impact production.
· Evaluate excess material reports, and defer incoming purchases when needed to optimize the flow of incoming inventory
· Alert production supervisors and warehouse manager of known shortages that will impact the production or kitting processes via automated scheduling and tracking reports.
· Manage/Maintain relationships between DRC and distributors, manufacturer’s representatives, and manufacturers to ensure accurate pricing, good quality, and a high level of customer service.
· Ensure the promotion of customer focus throughout the organization
· Complete 1 or 2 “capstone” projects that will help create a lasting impact on both the team and organization at large
Education, experience and skills:
· Must be actively enrolled at a two- or four-year higher education institution Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
· Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
· Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
· Effective communication both internally and externally.
· Proficient with Windows based ERP/MRP systems – M1 experience preferred but not required.
· Basic skills using Microsoft Office programs such as Word and Excel.
