District Manager – Utility Construction

We are looking for motivated leaders to join our company and guide our district employees in Monroe, LA. In this role, you will manage and guide our crews of dedicated employees to perform quality utility construction work, done safely. We are looking for knowledgeable, determined candidates with strong ethical standards, a commitment to success, and experience in utility or telecommunications construction management.

Job description:

In this position, you will:

• Actively participate in operations meetings with COO, district managers, customers, and others
• Actively participate in estimation, bids, contract negotiations, etc.
• Develop, manage, and maintain customer relationships
• Direct crews and job activities, including creating crew schedules, assigning jobs, establishing completion timelines, supervising performance, monitoring quality, etc.
• Identify and supervise subcontractors performing work in your district to ensure proper, quality and safe completion of work, appropriate billing, etc.
• Oversee all district activity and projects, ensuring deadlines are met and all work is completed
• Gather and prepare all documents needed for construction activities, including but not limited to blueprints, plats, work prints, site plans, bid documents, contracts, proposals
• Identify, address and correct any errors in documents needed for construction activities before commencing work on any jobs
• Manage the employment processes and employee records for your district, including hiring, separation, status changes, etc.
• Ensure and maintain a safe working environment, by promoting a safety-focused culture within your district, conducting safety observations, and educating crews on safe work practices
• Maintain a functional, safe vehicle fleet and oversee any maintenance on fleet vehicles and equipment

Qualifications

• 3-5 years’ experience in telecommunications or utility construction management, with emphasis on fiber, directional drilling, and other related work
• Proven leadership skills
• Safety-focused, hands-on work style
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent time-management skills
• Experience with long-term projects, with proven history of quality work and achieving deadlines
• Experience reading and interpreting maps, blueprints, and other technical documents
• Experience interfacing with customers, both consumer-to-business and business-to-business

We are hiring for our Monroe, LA location. The Alexandria area is a thriving economic center, with an appealing cost of living, vibrant community life, and boundless natural attractions nearby.
