Overview
Dexter, a premier manufacturer and distributor of axles, suspension, brakes, doors, venting products, trailer parts and accessories, and towing components serving the commercial trailer, RV, heavy-duty, marine, agriculture, and manufactured housing markets, has an opportunity for a CDL Driver at our distribution facility located in Mebane, NC.
The Commercial (CDL) Driver, Class A is responsible for transporting product.

Position Summary
Job Responsibilities:
- Deliver trailer and trailer products while operating a tractor-trailer truck, sometimes over intercity routes or spanning several states to customers timely.
- Must be willing and able to tarp loads as needed.
- Record amount and type of cargo being delivered.
- Drive long distances.
- Fill up on fuel, clean truck, and wash windows.
- Report to a dispatcher any incidents encountered on the road.
- Monitor road conditions and watch for traffic congestion.
- Follow all applicable traffic laws.
- Inspect their trailer before and after the trip and record any defects they find.
- Follow accident procedures if an accident occurs.
- Keep a log of their activities.
- Report serious mechanical problems to the appropriate personnel.
- Take rest periods during trip, take special precautions while driving.
- Other duties, as assigned
Requirements
Education – Experience Required
- Valid Class A CDL Required
- Class A – minimum of 1 year experience including manual
- Proven working experience as a commercial truck driver
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly
- Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
- No DWI/DUI in the last 10 years
- No more than 2 speeding tickets in the last 3 years in excess 10 MPH
- No more than 1 motor vehicle accident at fault in the last 2 years
- Adaptability/foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc.)
Willing to submit to background/drug checks and provide employment recommendations
