Position Summary
The Supplier Quality Manager supports operational quality, commodity compliance, and strategic sourcing to develop and improve the overall quality of the Dexter supply base. This will be accomplished through assessing, qualifying, developing, launching, and maintaining suppliers utilizing world class processes.
This role will:
- Collaborate with suppliers, purchasing, quality, engineering, and plants to identify and implement quality improvement strategies and reduce warranty costs.
- In collaboration with purchasing, qualifies new suppliers through assessments, and on-site audits.
- Contributes to the development, maintenance, and improvements to the Dexter Supplier Quality Management policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with purchasing and plants to develop, monitor, report, and hold suppliers accountable for performance measures through supplier rating (score card) metrics.
- Timely communicates supplier performance information and keeps management informed of significant
- Assist suppliers to resolve external quality issues and drive to true root cause discovery and permanent corrective action.
- Support purchasing, plant quality, operations, and materials departments to resolve supplier quality and delivery issues.
- Collaborates with Dexter International Purchasing team to ensure compliance and consistency across business units and regions.
- Participate as an active member of the quality management team to develop and execute operational plans.
- Manage and develop supplier quality team members to efficiently and effectively perform all duties.
- Assist with the maintenance, management, and training of the supplier quality software.
- Interface with functional manager to establish daily, weekly, monthly, and annual goals and milestones.
- Any other tasks or duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Quality, Engineering or comparable discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- At least 5 years of related experience
- ISO 9001:2015 Internal Auditor certification
- ASQ Certification or equivalent a plus
