What You DO
- Review and assign appropriate codes for medical diagnoses and procedures.
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of coding for billing and insurance purposes.
- Verify patient information and medical records for accuracy.
- Communicate with healthcare providers to clarify any discrepancies or missing information.
- Ensure compliance with coding regulations and guidelines.
- Assist with other administrative tasks related to patient records and claims.
- 2 years of medical coding experience required.
- Certification in Medical Coding (CPC, CCS, or similar) preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of medical terminology, insurance, and coding systems (ICD-10, CPT).
- Strong computer skills and proficiency with coding software.
- Attention to detail, organization, and time management skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work independently.
- Knowledge of insurance (PPOs, HMOs) and billing processes is a plus.
