What are the responsibilities and job description for the Program Manager (RSVP) position at Diakon?

General Responsibilities:
- Responsible for supervising the development, growth and expansion of the RSVP Program.
- Responsible for overseeing service coordinator duties in providing transportation services.
- Coordinates contributions from clients and churches; works with the Executive Director, Community Services and Advancement Department to secure grants, county funding, in-kind match and to identify potential donors.
- Plans and implements recruitment, enrollment, orientation, and placement of Senior Volunteers; approves assignments of Senior Volunteers; arranges for formal recognition of Senior Volunteers and those organizations and individuals who have contributed to the support of the RSVP project, with the Coordinators.
Education/Training: A Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Communications, Human Service, Environmental or a related field normally required; or the equivalent of an appropriate combination of education and work experience.
Experience: A minimum of three (3) years' experience in the fields of human services or volunteer administration or related position preferred.
ADA: Ability to sit, stand, bend, stoop, reach, and lift items weighing up to 25 lbs.; visual and auditory skills.

Staff receive excellent training through a comprehensive paid general orientation including customer service training. Diakon also maintains a discretionary emergency fund, which can be of assistance to staff members during critical times.
