Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Database Administrator to join our US Based DevOps team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining our database systems, ensuring their performance, security, and availability. This role requires a strong understanding of database design and administration, as well as the ability to troubleshoot and optimize database performance. The Database Administrator will work closely with both onshore and offshore developers and other IT staff to support various applications and data management initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain database structures to support application development.
- Deploy and Update SQL schema changes
- Monitor database performance and implement performance tuning measures.
- Ensure high availability of databases through effective backup and recovery strategies.
- Develop and execute scripts for automation of routine tasks.
- Manage data migration and ETL processes to ensure data integrity and availability.
- Collaborate with development teams to optimize SQL queries and scripted SQL procedures.
- Perform regular database maintenance tasks, including updates, patches, and security audits.
- Document database configurations, procedures, and best practices for future reference.
Skills
- Proficiency in Database Design principles.
- Strong knowledge of MySQL, MS/SQL, and various Open source database management systems.
- Experience with Performance Tuning techniques to enhance database efficiency.
- Familiarity with Scripting languages for automation (Shell Scripting preferred).
- Understanding of High Availability solutions for critical systems.
- Solid experience in Database Administration tasks including monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
- Proficient in TSQL, PL/SQL for advanced data manipulation.
- Knowledge of ETL processes for data integration across systems.
Role
This role reports to the Director of US DevOps.
