POSITION DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Worker to join our property management team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling minor troubleshooting repairs in apartments, servicing appliances, and performing a variety of maintenance and repair tasks for buildings and grounds. This role requires a proactive and skilled individual who can ensure a safe and well-maintained living environment for our residents.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform minor repairs and troubleshooting in apartments, including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
- Service and repair appliances as needed, ensuring they are in good working order.
- Conduct routine inspections of buildings and grounds to identify maintenance needs.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from residents and address issues in a timely manner.
- Maintain cleanliness and functionality of common areas and outdoor spaces.
- Assist in the preventive maintenance program to extend the life of facilities and equipment.
- Collaborate with other maintenance staff and property management to coordinate repairs and improvements.
- Document work performed and maintain accurate records of maintenance activities.
- Be available for emergency situations outside of normal work hours, including nights and weekends, as needed.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Willingness to work in various weather conditions and environments.
SCHEDULE & QUALIFICATION EXPECTATIONS
- Regular hours are Monday – Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM with some after hours support required.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in maintenance or a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience in maintenance and repair work, preferably in a residential property setting.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues effectively and efficiently.
- Strong communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Must be able to pass pre-employment background, drug and alcohol screenings and continuing drug/alcohol testing.
