As a key member of the Finance and Accounting team, the Staff Accountant will be responsible for providing accounting services to the organization as whole, contributing towards the monthly financial reporting goals.
This role will work closely with the Finance team to provide support for internal customers such as the Operations and Account Management teams and will report to the Regional Controller.
This is a hybrid position.
Expedition Expectations
- Facilitate the day-to-day general ledger accounting functions including, but not limited to, month-end/year-end close processes
- Process general ledger entries and adjustments into systems to record financial transactions
- Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations, proactively research variances and obtain timely resolution to clear variances
- Perform financial statement analysis and review for accuracy and compliance to generally accepted accounting practices and principals
- Assist in preparing workpapers and supporting documentation for annual financial audit to ensure an unqualified opinion
- Act as technical accounting resource and liaison for other accounting staff and department managers when issues or questions arise impacting financial reporting and information
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support financial, accounting and company initiatives
- Look for and provide recommendations for opportunities for efficiencies/process improvement
- Prepare and recording of client invoicing
- Reconcile client and enterprise credit cards
- Other duties and projects as assigned
Passport to Success
- BS/BA degree in Accounting or Finance with a minimum of 3 years’ experience
- Strong financial acumen along with problem identification, analytical and resolution skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skill
- Self-motivator with the ability to work independently
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple assignments to meet deadlines
- Detail oriented and able to adopt a flexible, hands-on approach in relation to the strategic direction of the company
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
Going the Extra Mile
- Travel or service industry experience, including experience with Agresso, Central Command, Globalware, Trams, and/or Travcom preferred
