Seeking a full-time organized, detailed oriented, pragmatic, and collaborative School Health Clinician, Nurse Practitioner, or Physician Assistant to join the Viking Wellness Center team based in Crawford County.
Essential Duties
· Works autonomously within scope of practice and credentials providing and managing primary care medical services for adolescents in a school-based health center under collaborative practice agreement with Medical Director.
· Reports administratively to School Health Division. Responsible for initiation and maintenance of client services in the clinical setting in accordance with agency and Adolescent Health Center program policies, procedures and clinical standards.
· Performs comprehensive assessment, diagnosis and treatment of clients including ordering and dispensing medications. Counsels clients and families on health-promoting lifestyle choices and disease prevention.
· Collaborates with multi-disciplinary team members and outside providers and makes appropriate referrals.
· The Viking Wellness Center is an approved National Health Service Corp. Loan Reimbursement Site.
Requirements and Qualifications:
· Knowledge of the standards of care concerning the diagnosis and treatment of medical conditions, appropriate preventative care and education, and coding for medical billing as acquired through the completion of a master's level Advanced Practice program.
· Successful completion of required clinical training, and licensed to practice in Michigan as FNP, PNP or PA.
· Ability to autonomously perform primary care Clinician role, adhering to scope of practice, and seeking guidance from Medical Director as appropriate.
· Communication skills necessary to interact appropriately with adolescents, parents/guardians, co-workers, providers, partnering organizations, and the public through listening, speaking, and understanding.
