General Summary: A licensed registered nurse working to assist the public and serve their needs in the areas of school health and wellness, communicable disease, immunizations, and other Health Department services. This School Wellness Program (SWP) position operates under the license of the DHD4 Medical Director.
Duties:
- Providing skilled nursing care to students both in office and off-site, school setting per protocols and standing orders.
- Seamlessly integrate this nurse wellness role into the school community by attending school events, programs, and meetings, which may require flexible scheduling.
- Complete and maintain accurate, adequate, and timely records in computer software products such as Microsoft Office, Electronic Medical Records software, and similar products.
- Utilize effective communication and conflict resolution skills to serve clientele in a tactful, objective, respectful manner while maintaining privacy and HIPAA compliance.
Requirements:
- Associate Degree in Nursing required, Bachelor of Science preferred.
- Current license to practice as a registered nurse (RN) in Michigan.
- Ability to provide services to vulnerable populations in a culturally competent, inclusive, and non-judgmental manner.
- Valid Michigan identification and reliable transportation.
- Excellent communication & organizational skills.
- Fluent in English. Additional languages beneficial.
Salary: $51,200 Annual Salary for 41 weeks of work, closely following Hillman School calendar. Generous benefit package offered includes: Eleven (11) weeks unpaid pre-determined time-off (including winter, spring, and summer break times), plus additional paid time off for sick and vacation leave, and six (6) paid holidays. DHD4 provides medical insurance for your family, paying 85% of the cost. Dental &/or vision coverage also available to purchase at a low-cost group rate.
