We help our swimmers develop important safety skills, learn to swim and enjoy the water, and build a passion for the oceans and marine health. We're hiring a Swim Teacher/Instructor. Weekend, evening, and daytime shifts available. Guaranteed hours. Competitive pay.
Diventures offers extensive paid training, including lifeguard and First Aid certifications. All of our Swim Teachers/Instructors are certified through Swim Schools International and learn the latest swim curriculum and teaching techniques.
No prior coaching experience is necessary.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities
Your primary areas of action include:
- Teach a variety of levels and ages swimming and safety skills. You'll work with children of all ages, and with adults on occasion. At Diventures, we make lessons safe and fun! Plus, we limit most classes to four students per teacher, so you'll work closely with each student to reach their goals.
- Be consistent and reliable to your swimmers. We know swimmers do best with teachers they know and trust, so we look for teachers who are reliable, start and end classes on time, and execute each lesson plan with consistency.
- Provide a safe swimming environment. At Diventures, safety is the highest priority. You'll be expected to follow all safety initiatives and requirements.
- Ensure customer satisfaction. Our swim teachers build a connection with their students and their parents or caregivers. We aim to deliver an incredible learning experience for everyone who comes through our doors.
- Keep your pool in order. Instructors help in cleaning, maintenance, and general upkeep of the facility.
Key Personality Attributes
You must love swimming, be positive and energetic, and enjoy working with children and teens. You'll also need great people skills overall since you'll also have plenty of interaction with parents. Ideal applicants would also have:

Skills & Experiences
Previous lifeguarding or swim instruction experience is preferred but not required.
- Minimum age is 16
- Swim Teachers will get certified through SSI and complete their training and an apprenticeship before teaching independently
- CPR, First Aid, and AED certification is required within 90 days of hire; paid training provided
