Responsibilities:
1. Implement and manage an effective Federal strategy on both government and regulatory issues; monitor state legislation and implement strategies as needed at the state level. 2. Build strong relationships with legislators, regulators, peer companies, and trade associations and their staff members to advance the company’s goals and objectives. 3. Manage a team of external consultants and lobbyists as needed, including budget management. 4. Be the regional point of contact for policy and regulatory information, including interviews in media and speaking opportunities at conferences and seminars. 5. Work closely with the DJI global policy team to develop long-term strategic outcomes across a variety of policy issues, consistent with global policy developments and objectives. 6. Work closely with the DJI U.S. sales and marketing group to support engagements that advance DJI’s position in the marketplace. 7. Advise and participate (as necessary) in coalitions and trade associations.
Requirements:
1. Bachelors Degree (B.A. or B.S.) required; advanced degrees preferred 2. Minimum 10 years’ experience with public policy and government affairs such as legislative and regulatory advocacy, lobbying, coalitions, government service, etc. 3. Demonstrated expertise in public policy and the political and legislative process. 4. Demonstrated ability to build relationships with top level legislators and regulators. 5. Sophisticated knowledge of (or experience with) relevant technology policy issues including privacy and data security. 6. Goal and results oriented. 7. Diplomacy and tact; firm in your convictions, but sophisticated in the art of compromise. Location:Washington DC strongly preferred; other locations may be considered. Salary Range: $150,000 - $280,000
