REPORTS TO: Bakery/Deli Manager

PURPOSE STATEMENT:
- Greets each customer and provides courteous service.
- Strives daily to exceed the customers’ expectations by providing a positive first impression, determining actual needs, delivering real solutions, adding value where possible, and leaving the customer with a lasting positive impression, by providing superior customer service.
- Provides service to customer by always determining their needs, and continually increasing my own knowledge.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greets each customer in an ongoing effort to elevate overall customer satisfaction level and deliver superior customer service.
- Serves customers at counter by filling requests and packaging products for sales.
- Receives special orders in person and over phone, communicating availability and expected time-from to customer.
- Operation and safe handling of mixer, oven, slicer, wrapper, and printer to prepare products for sale.
- Replenishes supplies on sales floor and in display cases.
- Prepares, packages, and labels all products for sale.
- Rotates product throughout sales floor, in cases, and freezer according to code dates to ensure optimum freshness and control shrinkage.
- Receives and records quantities received from shipments and assists in unloading trucks.
- Responds to customer questions/requests/complaints and explain store policies in a courteous manner.
- Complies with sanitation chart schedule in department and follows correct procedures to ensure safe food handling.
- Cleans and sanitizes counters, tables, display cases, floors, shelves and sales area in bakery/deli dept.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned by Bakery/Deli Manager.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Basic mathematical ability (add, subtract, multiply, divide) and ability to count.
- Must possess valid/current city/county food handlers permit (health card)
- Good interpersonal communication skills.
- Must be 18 years or older to operate the pallet jack, forklift and baler.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
No previous work experience required.
