What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of RSVP position at DODGE CITY COMMUNITY COLLEGE?
Under the general supervision of the Director of Business Services, the Director of the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) will oversee the Grant Funded RSVP program, prepare necessary reports, balance budget and coordinate volunteers and promote the programs in the community.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities
- To understand and commit to the Mission of the College ~ Dodge City Community College provides a student-centered learning environment where students can achieve their educational, personal, and career goals.
- Acts as authorized representative for the DCCC RSVP program and maintains files required by state and federal officials to fulfill audit requirements.
- Assess volunteer needs of the community and planning and developing all phases of the project operation.
- Prepare proposals to receive or maintain grant funding.
- Adhere to and administer personnel policies and procedures for project staff consistent with those of DCCC, the Kansas Corporation for National Service, and the RSVP Advisory Council
- Develop and maintain close coordination with volunteer stations and maintain forms associated with volunteer stations.
- Recruit, orient, place, and arrange for assignment of RSVP volunteers.
- Keep RSVP Advisory Council members informed and solicit their advice on matters affect project operation and provide staff assistance to Community Advisory Group.
- Provide information and support to RSVP volunteers.
- Attend training conferences.
- Enhance the total project effort through active involvement with community organizations, other national service programs, and other senior and volunteer programs.
- Work in cooperation with sponsor staff, Community Advisory Group members, and volunteer station staff to obtain resources for the project.

Per CACFP regulations, devote 600 hours annually to monitoring related activities in one-site review, parent surveys, on-site/other training, technical assistance, menu reviews, and enrollment forms as described in Federal Monitoring Staffing Standards.

Required Qualifications
- Associates Degree
- Experience working with elderly populations and/or volunteer programs
- Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills
- Obtain and maintain a valid Kansas driver's license

- Fund raising experience
- Volunteer management experience
- Public speaking/presentation skills

Physical Requirements With or without assistance
- Ability to lift and carry 35 pounds over 25 feet.
- Ability to hear information speaker in conversational voice at a distance of 10 ft. and on telephone
- Ability to speak clearly and audibly to others at 10 ft. distance and on the telephone.
- Ability to stretch, bend, stoop, and kneel as required to perform the duties of this position.
- Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time.
