Overview
The Executive Director plays a pivotal role in guiding the organization towards achieving its objectives and sits at the helm of a non profit organization, steering it, managing it's operations and carrying out it's mission according to the strategic direction of the Board of Directors. This position requires a visionary leader who can effectively manage operations, drive program development, and foster relationships with the community leaders and collaborators . The Executive Director will be responsible for overseeing the organization's overall performance, ensuring efficient processes, and leading a dedicated team to success.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of strategic plans that align with the organization's goals.
- Oversee daily operations and ensure that all departments are functioning efficiently.
- Negotiate contracts, write and obtain grants and partnerships to enhance community development opportunities.
- Manage budgets and resources effectively while implementing process improvements.
- Provide senior leadership by mentoring and developing team members to achieve their full potential.
- Foster a culture of collaboration and innovation within the organization.
- Represent the organization at community events, meetings, and conferences to promote its mission and vision.
- The Executive Director is also responsible for being a sexual assault and domestic violence advocate, who shares in the responsibility of the 24 hour crisis line and intervention, rotating with their employees.
Experience
- Proven experience in senior leadership roles with a strong background in operations management as well as knowledge of how a non-profit functions.
- Demonstrated expertise in program management, including planning, execution, and evaluation of programs.
- Strong skills in strategic planning and grant writing with a track record of successful negotiations.
- Experience in process improvement initiatives that enhance organizational efficiency.
- Exceptional leadership abilities with a focus on team management and development.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
-Excellent computer skills and the ability to be part of the team of advocates.
Desired Qualifications
-Bilingual (English/Spanish)
-Bachelors' Degree (non profit management, public health, social work) or equivalent work experience.
-Minimum of three years experience in executive management of a nonprofit organization and equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
-Experience working with victims of domestic violence/sexual assault.
-Experience in writing grants and following requirements in the budget process.
This position is ideal for an experienced leader who is passionate about driving change and making a positive impact within the Domestic Violence organization and it's clients.
