Longwood Gardens is seeking a part time Garden Shop Plant Sales Lead to assist in overseeing the daily operation of The Garden Shop. All tasks are performed in alignment with Longwood’s organizational values and are in support of achievement of Longwood’s Strategic Plan.

Responsibilities include:

• Opening and reconciling register tills, cash handling, conduct training, and floor supervision shifts
• Maintaining visual presentations of the Shop, and support daily tasks such as cleaning, store recovery/replenishment, plant care, and merchandise placement
• Resolving guest issues in a timely manner providing informed guidance and support
• Assisting in monitoring plant health to ensure maximum quality
• Willingness to learn plant nomenclature, cultural requirements, and identifying and addressing insect and disease issues
• Performing all duties of retail associates

The ideal candidate will possess:

• A minimum of High School diploma or equivalent
• A minimum of one-year experience working in retail sales
• Basic knowledge of plants preferred
• Flexibility to work varying schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Computer knowledge and cash register experience
• Exceptional customer service and guest relation skills
• Ability to stand for long periods of time, lifting of up to 40 pounds, and occasionally working in outdoor area
