Restaurant Server
Doubletree by Hilton Monroe-Cranbury is seeking an experienced restaurant server to attend to our guests in our Upscale restaurant, 390 Prime Steak & Seafood. We are seeking a Full-Time /Part-Time server. Base hourly rate & tips.
Position Summary: The restaurant server role is to ensure our guests receive prompt, friendly, professional service in our restaurant and hotel during each shift. The server is to present the restaurant in the most positive light to all guests at all times to ensure a proper guest experience. Career servers preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Greet guests promptly upon taking a seat in the restaurant.
- Share any specials or make recommendations from the menu for the guest.
- Secure drink orders and take food orders in an efficient professional manner.
- Inspect food for accuracy and presentation prior to delivery.
- Maintain a clean table and assist with any refills or guest requests as needed.
- Complete all side station work and maintain a clean safe restaurant at all times.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Good communication skills verbal and written
- High work ethic and self-initiative
- Regular attendance according to established guidelines
- May be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the Hotel & Restaurant
- Focus and maintain attention to multiple tasks in a short time period, and complete work assignments within deadline demands, despite frequent interruptions or multi-tasks required
- Ability to maintain excellent relationships with staff & Guests
- Maintain staff and guest confidentiality at all times
- Must complete food handler and alcohol awareness training
- Must practice all food handling guidelines per Hilton Brand standards
- Must have prior server experience-upscale dining experience a plus
- Hotel dining experience a plus, not required
Qualifications
- Previous restaurant experience, including serving and food handling- Strong communication skills to interact with customers and team members effectively- Familiarity with POS systems- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage time efficiently- Knowledge of food safety protocols and sanitation practices- Experience in upselling and maximizing sales opportunities- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions- Hospitality and guest service mindset to provide a positive dining experience
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Lift approximately thirty (30) pounds
