Serves as a team leader assisting with the coordination of EVS team member activities in addition to performing EVS Technician duties as needed. Orients, mentors, and trains team members. Assists in monitoring team member productivity. Provides suggestions for increased service or productivity following EVS standards. Promotes a safe working environment. Ensures customer satisfaction with quality and service.
RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):
- Cleans offices, patient rooms, common areas, lavatories, halls, and any other areas that may require attention.
- Sweeps, mops, scrubs, polishes floors and vacuums hallways, stairs and office space.
- Cleans light fixtures, ceilings and vents, walls, mattresses, furniture, windows and window coverings.
- Empties trash and garbage containers.
- Replenishes supplies.
- May shampoo and cleans carpets or buff and polish floors which will require the use of mechanical equipment.
- May change sheets and replenish linens.
- May perform routine equipment maintenance and make minor repairs.
- May drive a golf cart or other vehicles.
- Moves furniture and sets-up tables and chairs.
- Notifies supervisor concerning need for major repairs or additions to lighting, heating, and ventilating equipment.
- Uniforms must be worn in accordance with dress code requirements.
- Regular attendance and punctuality for scheduled shifts.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge through continuing education opportunities including internal and external educational offerings.
- Utilization of assistive devices for lifting is mandatory.
- Must adhere to, and promote, safety protocols at all times.
- Per DRH policy, all required conditions of employment must be met and maintained including required vaccinations.
- Implement DRH Standards of Behavior and exhibit behaviors consistent with DRH core values.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Communication skills including fluency in oral and written English. Basic computer skills including the ability to navigate information technology associated with the position. Knowledge of proper and safe use of applicable custodial equipment. Ability to remain flexible to quickly adapt to urgent situations. Ability to adapt procedures, processes, tools, equipment, and techniques to accomplish the requirements of the position. Knowledge of proper and safe use of custodial equipment and chemicals. Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous team leader or mentor experience preferred. Must have basic phone and computer skills (email, texting, etc.). Ability to read information on papers and computer screens. Knowledge of proper and safe use of applicable custodial equipment.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations: Blood borne pathogen training required. For those positions requiring travel, a current valid driver’s license and automobile liability insurance must be maintained.

This position requires respirator and fit testing. Required testing will be performed on all team members at risk for exposure to airborne infectious diseases, droplet producing procedures, or any caustic chemicals.
