Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Loss Prevention Specialist works alongside Operations Leaders to maintain proper loss prevention, safety, and security measures and ensure they are executed across all HRG locations.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
1.Administrative Auditing
- Track and report using key performance metrics for all locations
- Cash Management – weekly loss prevention reporting to operations
- Coupon Auditing – reviewing couponing relative to metrics (factoring promos, city stores, etc.)
- Discount Auditing – reviewing discounts relative to location (factoring EMS, senior, college discounts, etc.)
- Cashier Analysis – reviewing cashiers cash handling randomly and / or for those who have totals in reductions greater than the loss prevention metrics
- Managing HRG’s Vector security standards across network
- Coordinate and assist in planning / placement of all technology and video components
2.Video Review
Manage all March Surveillance SystemsLive footage review of targeted locationsTargeted locations determined by prior indiscretionsPast video review for continued analysis of known issues / concernsRandomly utilizing available footage to determine if there are poor habits trending – addressing those habits before they propagate3.Cash / Coupon / Discount Audits
Unannounced in-store safe, drawer, and deposit audits – to be performed at discretion and / or at semi-regular intervals at all locations (random dates / times can be utilized)Coupon and discount audits may be performed during the same visits or monthly with the provided coupon / discount information brought to corporate location4.Journal Reviews
Utilizing Oracle, Net Chef, BizIQ cash handling functionsDaily reconciliations, sum of safe over / short report, individual shift / cashier reports, transaction reviews, settlementsReviewing in-store journals for consistencies / errors / patterns5.Interviews with Crew Members
Cash Loss Interviews – cash is lost on a shift, on site interview with crew member(s)Cash Handling Interviews – cash-mishandling / mismanagement occurs (to include coupons, discounts, etc. as well as actual cash loss)General Interviews – to review safety / security procedures and protocols, or any other issues noted in store(s)6.Investigations
Utilizing all information gathered from data mining processes to move toward a determination regarding shrinkage / theft or safety / security concerns7.Insurance
Process, submit, and investigate all general liability and property claimsParticipate in all safety committee meetings. Assist in maintaining state certification guidelines8.Recommendations
Articulated presentation of all factual data gathered to COO / Director of Finance / RDs / DMs / RMsCourse of action recommended may include retraining to termination or criminal investigationREQUIREMENTS :
High School diplomaMinimum of 2 years of loss prevention experience, preferably in the restaurant industryPC proficiencyAptitude for conducting and resolving investigationsWicklander-Zulawski training and / or certification preferredEnergetic and outgoing personalitySelf-motivated and goal orientedAbility to travel throughout Pittsburgh, Western Pennsylvania, Southeastern Ohio, and Northeastern WV
Salary : $50,000 - $60,000
