Job Description
INSIDE FRONT COUNTER SALES POSITION
Assist walk in and call in customers with identifying and locating merchandise and accurately completing all paperwork associated with sale. Desired: Familiarity with cylinders, welding and industrial supplies a plus.
Assist customers at dock to exchange cylinder gases and load cylinders into vehicle up to 50 lbs. Ability to load and unload trucks, vans, or automobiles.
Receives payment according to company accounting procedures.
Answering the phone.
Assistance with receiving and stocking inventory in showroom and warehouse.
Good customer service skills and interest, ability to record accurate sales data.
Assists the Manager and Salesmen
We will provide training on industry specific computer system.
Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- 3 years of experience in a shipping and receiving role and or counter sales.
- Good driving record
- Must be drug-free
- Must have the ability to lift and/ or move up to 50lbs and 130 lbs. with material handling equipment.
- Must be dependable - five-year work experience in the occupations listed.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Communication skills for relaying data (verbally and in-writing) between other employees and customers
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Ability to rapidly change roles/responsibilities while working in a high-paced, challenging work environment
- Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Forklift and other related inventory equipment experience
Additional Requirements:
- Physical effort including standing, lifting, bending, squatting and carrying light to moderately heavy materials or equipment (up to 60 lbs. unassisted) and higher with assistance of dollies.
- Typically exposed to work in extreme outdoor environments – heat, cold, rain. Ability to work in non-climate-controlled warehouse.
