Desk Attendant Assistant Lead – Residence Life Salary: $19.00 per hour POSITION SUMMARY: The desk
attendant assistant lead seeks to ensure proper staffing levels for the night
shift by offering a specific degree of oversight presence assistance during the
night shift. This function helps facilitate staff breaks by moving between
buildings as needed and adjusts coverage to accommodate call-offs in the
evening. This will improve coverage
overall and reduce the need to call in duty RAs to staff the desk at odd hours. This role will
effectively involve many of the same obligations as a full-time desk employee,
with a few additional components. This
person will require some extra authority to carry out this function well since
they will be assisting with monitoring call-offs and modify coverage available
from other staff members. DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES: Handle staff coverage adjustments as needed to make up for any call-offs. Rotate among the
various desks to ensure that staff are properly relieved for their respective
breaks. Perform standard
desk aide functions. Completes other
duties as assigned. SUPERVISORY
RESPONSIBILITIES: Guides work of
others who perform same work. May organize, set priorities, schedule and review
work, but has no responsibility to hire, terminate, review performance or make
pay decisions, e.g., Lead position.

REQUIREMENTS: Minimum qualifications: High school diploma. Preferred
qualifications: 1-3 years of experience Alternately, the successful candidate may possess any equivalent combination of
experience and training, which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities
required to perform the essential job functions. This includes, but is not
limited to, the following: Good communication
skills are necessary as this position will deal with understanding and properly
relaying needs of both students and staff. As with all front
desk staff, customer service is a major element of the job, including dealing
with students and members of the public in situations that may be difficult. Good analytical
and planning skills in order to manage adapting the schedule as needed are a
must. Commitment to the
