Description
Clinical (75%):
• Prepare patients for examinations and procedures.
• Perform vital signs, height, weight, and other assessments.
• Assist physicians with examinations and minor procedures.
• Administer medications as directed.
• Educate patients on diagnoses, treatments, and post-operative care.
• Manage patient charts and electronic medical records.
• Order and maintain medical supplies.
• Ensure sterilization and safety protocols are followed.
• Maintain a clean and organized examination room environment. Quality Improvement and Special Projects (25%):
• Participate in team-based quality improvement initiatives.
• Collect and analyze data for performance improvement.
• Assist with project management and implementation.
• Develop and implement standardized protocols for clinic procedures.
• Stay informed about current ENT guidelines and best practices. Leadership and Skill/Specialty Competencies:
• Demonstrates strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Works effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Exhibits organizational skills and time management abilities.
• Shows a thorough understanding of ENT anatomy, physiology, and common diagnoses.
• Maintains proficiency in sterile technique and infection control procedures.
• Possesses basic computer skills and proficiency in EMR systems.
• Shows willingness to learn new skills and participate in quality improvement initiatives. Preceptorship:
• Serves as a preceptor for new or less experienced MAs.
• Provides training and guidance on clinical procedures and policies.
• Evaluates progress and provides constructive feedback
Qualifications
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) required.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in Otolaryngology or a related field preferred.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Strong commitment to patient care and quality improvement.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in sterile technique and infection control procedures.
• Basic computer skills and EMR experience preferred.
