The Public Relations, Senior Specialist is responsible for assisting leadership with managing day-to-day public relations and social media activities — including media and community relations — in order to meet Alignment’s brand and reputational goals. Partners, assists and supports leadership with managing multiple projects effectively under deadlines. Oversees publicity programs and campaigns that improve the company public image and protect its overall reputation. Journalism and/or health care experience are strongly preferred. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are a must.GENERAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES :
1. Assists and supports leadership with securing coverage in high-profile news outlets by developing and executing public relations strategies, campaigns and initiatives to improve brand awareness and public perception of the company.
2. Assists leadership with managing regional spokesperson media interviews, press tours and briefings as needed.
3. Handles public relations activities via social media and publications.
4. Responds to information queries from the news media and general public.
5. Partners with leadership with the creation of regional communications collateral, including multimedia, videos, website, media kits and other items as needed.
6. Supports content development for Alignment Healthcare’s blog, social media, publications, and other communications.
7. Maintains an archive of press releases and media tracking reports.
8. Researches relevant award programs, speaking opportunities and other creative concepts to build Alignment Healthcare’s awareness among relevant constituents.
9. Plans and coordinates special events and activities to support community, government and media relations.
10. Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
Experience:
• Required: Minimum five years of working experience in public relations and/or marketing within an agency or large regional organization encompassing multiple communications disciplines, including media relations and social media management. Minimum of two years of experience in creating, publishing and monitoring content on social media platforms (e.g., LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram) to grow an audience, build brand awareness and manage corporate reputation.
• Preferred: Healthcare experience
Education:
• Required: Bachelor's degree focus on public relations, journalism, business communications, marketing, or related field
• Preferred: MBA

• Required:
- Ability in assisting and partnering with leadership to develop, pitch and place fresh story ideas to key media contacts.
- Knowledgeable about health plans and health care.
- Excellent written and verbal storytelling skills, with impeccable attention to detail and ability to present clearly, strategically and persuasively.
- Capacity to help leadership create clarity and make decisions when team is faced with ambiguity.
- Proficiency with web-based content management systems, media monitoring and social media management tools such as Kentico, WordPress, Cision, Meltwater, Hootsuite Pro, Statusbrew, etc.
- Ability to communicate positively, professionally and effectively with others; provide leadership, teach and collaborate with others.
- Effective written and oral communication skills; ability to establish and maintain a constructive relationship with diverse members, management, employees and vendors;
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform mathematical calculations and calculate simple statistics correctly
- Reasoning Skills: Ability to prioritize multiple tasks; advanced problem-solving; ability to use advanced reasoning to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and design, implement and manage appropriate resolution.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Effective problem solving, organizational and time management skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Report Analysis Skills: Comprehend and analyze statistical reports.
