Summary:
The Logistics manager is responsible for leading a team of frontline employees to deliver orders to customers in a fast-paced delivery environment and manage the fleet vehicles and equipment for assigned facilities.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Hires and trains new employees
- Organizes and oversees the schedules and work of assigned staff
- Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive
- Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Plans and organizes daily activities related to delivery operations
- Measures productivity by analyzing performance data, financial data, and activity reports
- Coordinates with other support departments such as human resources, finance, and warehouse to ensure successful production operations
- Oversees the delivery functions
- Determines labor needs to meet delivery goals
- Assists with, and updates, organizations Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Ensures compliance of Department of Transportation and FMCSA safety standards including pre and post trip inspections
- Conducts team meetings and safety training to ensure that preventive measures are enforced
- Utilizes all routing software (e.g. Encompass, Samsara, RoadNet, etc.) and makes recommendations for efficiency and compliance
- Check emails and review all company technology (i.e. Trello, Slack) and responds to all company correspondence daily
- Performs other related duties as required
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent managerial and supervisory skills
- Extensive knowledge of operations and logistics management
- Ability to interpret financial data as needed to set production goals
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
- Able to attend all required meetings / trainings
- Complete all assigned ABU training
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED required, Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Five years of related experience required
- Commercial Driver’s License required
- Safe driving record
- Five years of operations or logistics experience preferred
