What are the responsibilities and job description for the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner position at EAST ARKANSAS FAMILY HEALTH CENTER?
The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner is part of the medical and behavioral health care teams. His/her primary purpose will be to provide psychiatric assessments and treatment to patients within the clinic setting of the organization based on a Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) model of care. He/she is expected to work in conjunction with other members of care team when necessary. (Other team members include, but are not limited to LCSW, MD, NP, PA, RN Case Manager, and pharmacy.)
Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive psychiatric/behavioral assessments for patients with mental health diagnoses and/or substance use disorders needing services.
- Provide direct patient care using appropriate, recognized modalities of treatment.
- Prescribe appropriate medication(s) to treat identified diagnosis (per provider discretion)
- Provide disease specific education and medication education to patient. Also, identify and provide information on additional resources that will enhance patient’s treatment success.
- Serve as a preceptor to psychiatric nurse practitioner, medical, LCSW, and PA students (if needed).
- Provide clinical consultation as needed and complete treatment plans in conjunction with other clinical and behavioral health staff.
- Maintain thorough, timely clinical documentation in the electronic health record.

Pay: $91,500.00 - $143,419.00 per year
