Job Summary :

The Recreation Aide is responsible for assisting in the planning, organizing, and implementing recreational activities and programs for residents of skilled nursing homes, such as senior residents or individuals with disabilities. This position supports the promotion of physical fitness, social interaction, and overall well-being among participants, contributing to a positive and inclusive community environment.

Key Responsibilities :

Activity Support :

Assist in the development and facilitation of recreational programs, special events, and activities that align with the interests and needs of the residents.

• Ensure activities are conducted safely, adhering to safety regulations and organizational policies.

Participant Engagement :

Promote participation by encouraging residents to engage in various activities and events through clear communication.

Assistance and Supervision :

Provide support during activities, ensuring residents receive proper guidance and assistance.

Community Collaboration :

Work alongside other departments to enhance and expand program offerings.

Program Evaluation and Improvement :

Regularly assess the effectiveness of programs and activities, making adjustments as needed based on feedback and outcomes.

Qualifications : Education :

High school diploma or equivalent. Prior experience in a skilled nursing home or assisted living environment is preferred.

Skills :

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire residents.

Physical Requirements :

Ability to lead and assist with physical activities, including lifting and moving equipment as needed.
