Job Summary:
The receiver is responsible for receiving of items that arrive at the shipping dock of the hospital as well as shipping other packages from the facility. The receiver should be able to ensure shipments are inspected, sorted, and placed in storage in the Warehouse and brought to stocking shelves as needed. They are also responsible for proper filing of packing slips, PO matching, as well as communicating with vendors when short shipments/mis picks/ or damaged goods arrive at the facility. The receiver must be able to communicate with the buyer to ensure backorders and shipment errors are handled in a timely fashion. In some circumstances, the receiver may also be asked to assume some roles of a inventory control specialist. Will assist in all aspects of the physical inventory counts and processes annually or more often as required.
Responsibilities:
- Receive shipments, check for damages and accuracy
- Communicate with vendors and customer service when short ships, mis picks, or damages occur
- Maintain POs and packing slips
- Ensure signatures for all persons picking up supplies
- Assist inventory specialists with supply deliveries
- Maintains a clean and sanitary working environment
- Communicates with buyer on issues that may need resolved.
- Abides by all HIPAA laws and practices
- Follows Hospital guidelines
- Conducts business in an ethical manner
- Assists in daily warehouse functions
- Maintains a clean orderly work environment
- Demonstrates excellent customer service to both internal and external customers through positive communications, cooperation, professional behavior and displaying of actions that are the primary goal of this institution
- Uses time effectively and constructively. Does not abuse supplies, equipment or service
- Adheres to safe work practices, emergency codes and emergency preparedness
- Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma
- Previous receiving or supply chain experience preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Experience running computer programs such as Meditech, SAP or Lawson Preferred.
- CPR within 6 months of hire, must maintain certification.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Must be able to lift heavy objects
- Strong communication skills
- Able to handle a fast-paced work environment that is come and go depending on the day
- Able to work independently of others but also as a team
- Ability to operate skid movers, fork lifts, pallet jacks and similar equipment
- Ability to accurately enter data
Physical Requirements:
- Sitting 2-3 hours per day
- Walking and lifting 5-6 hours per day
- Wrist deviation side to side
- Frequent bending, twisting, squatting, kneeling, and pushing
- Frequently lifting objects up to 50 pounds
- Occasionally lifting objects of 75 pounds
- Rarely lifting objects in excess of 100 pounds
